Biographical Sketch

Jonathan H. Skone is a member of the Advanced Technologies Group at NERSC where his focus is on evaluating HPC computer architectures and technology trends for their potential to meet the evolving scientific computing requirements of NERSC's users.

Prior to joining NERSC, Jonathan was a senior computational scientist and HPC system administrator at the University of Chicago, where he delivered high-performance computing solutions to support the multidisciplinary research efforts of the university's research community. He previously held appointments with Brookhaven National Laboratory, the University of California, Davis, and Argonne National Laboratory, where he pursued projects related to energy conversion and storage processes as well as methodological development for molecular and condensed matter systems. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University.
