In order to improve how we communicate with users about planned and unplanned outages, NERSC will be releasing a new version of its status page on Thursday, August 28.

The updated page will offer a bigger picture of the center’s resources, including more specific details about how Perlmutter’s status might affect your system usage. The page will also provide deeper information about each outage and its progression over time. In addition, all times will be reported in your local time, so you will no longer need to think through time conversions. The status summary will highlight any outages happening on the current day.

NERSC will switch to the new status page on August 28 between 3 and 6 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. During this window, the status page may become unavailable for a few minutes.

Changes to status emails

The email notification system for center status will continue to send notices, though they will look different and may be sent more frequently than usual for the initial weeks as NERSC staff gauge the new system’s needs.

NERSC may also send clearly marked test emails to the list.
