NERSC offers scientists intellectual services that empower them to be more effective researchers. For example, many of our consultants are themselves domain scientists in areas such as material sciences, physics, chemistry, and astronomy, well-equipped to help researchers apply computational resources to specialized science problems.
Our user-facing staff support and engage with NERSC users via documentation, consulting, and training.

Documentation
NERSC’s technical documentation includes useful information for all NERSC users, from beginners to the most experienced. Staff experts regularly update the documentation, and users contribute, too.
Got an idea? Our documentation is in a publicly accessible Git repository, and anyone can submit a merge request.

Consulting
NERSC consultants – experts in high performance computing, application performance, AI, and more – are on hand to support NERSC users via the NERSC Help Desk during business hours.

Training
NERSC offers a wide variety of training events on many different topics, with a range of difficulty levels. Most events are offered online, with videos recorded and posted to NERSC’s YouTube channel with professional captioning.
