Subhashree Dhandapani is a Cybersecurity Engineer at NERSC, where she is actively engaged in security monitoring, incident response, and security consulting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from India, during which she completed several internships alongside her academic studies. Subhashree began her career as a programmer for industrial control systems and later, as a senior engineer, led projects focused on developing innovative IIoT solutions, implementing automated data logging systems, optimizing data processing workflows, and enhancing the security of industrial systems and software. Building on her industry experience, Subhashree earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in computer networking and security from San Jose State University, where she completed notable projects in software-defined networking, network security, and machine learning. She subsequently worked as a Senior Project Engineer, contributing to vehicle data protection initiatives and participating in code reviews to ensure software security and reliability. Subhashree has also volunteered with non-profit organizations to help small businesses in the US strengthen their digital security by assessing their security posture and conducting penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in their web applications.
