Previous NESAP Projects

NESAP Pathfinding
NESAP pathfinding projects were one-year projects awarded in 2024. They were intended to prepare for and better use advanced workflow capabilities such as hardware acceleration, reconfigurable storage, advanced scheduling, integration with edge services, and alignment with DOE’s IRI program.

NESAP for Perlmutter
NERSC worked with key development teams to prepare codes for Perlmutter (NERSC-9) and the coming exascale systems. The collaborative effort that connected NERSC partners with code teams, vendors, and library and tool developers to prepare for advanced architectures and new computing systems.

NESAP for Cori
This collaborative effort was designed to give code teams, as well as library and tool developers, a unique opportunity to prepare for the manycore architecture of Cori (NERSC-8). NERSC selected projects to collaborate with NERSC, Cray, and Intel. The program included access to early hardware, and special training and preparation sessions with Intel and Cray staff.
