SUMMARY:MATLAB Webinar: Enhancing Control Design with Artificial Intelligen
 ce for DOE Labs
DESCRIPTION:<p>MathWorks is hosting a MATLAB webinar for researcher at the
DOE labs on Enhancing Control Design with Artificial Intelligence to suppo
rt the Genesis Mission. As modern control systems grow in complexity and s
cale\, traditional modeling and control techniques are being augmented by
artificial intelligence (AI). This seminar explores the intersection of AI
and control engineering\, focusing on how modern AI methods can enhance s
ystem modeling and controller design. &nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<h2>Highlights</
h2>\n<p>Learn practical workflows for integrating AI into control design w
 orkflows\, including:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generating synthetic data using the R
educed Order Modeler app</li>\n<li>Creating and training a reduced order m
odel of the thermal dynamics of an office building</li>\n<li>Designing an
energy management system for an office building using MPC with a reduced o
 rder model</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Please contact Tom McHugh\, tmchugh@mathworks.c
om with any questions.</p>\n<h2>About the Presenters</h2>\n<p><strong>Jord
an Olson</strong> is an Application Engineer specializing in advanced and
data-driven control techniques. He joined MathWorks in 2022 and supports a
variety of industries\, including aerospace and defense\, automotive\, en
ergy production\, and wireless communications. Jordan holds two master's d
egrees\, one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Electrical Enginee
ring\, both from The University of Alabama. During his graduate studies\,
Jordan focused on advanced control techniques in automotive applications\,
specifically hybrid-electric powertrain control and autonomous vehicles.<
