SUMMARY:International HPC Summer School
DESCRIPTION:<p>Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from institution
 s in Canada\, Europe\, Japan\, Australia\, or the United States are invite
d to apply for the&nbsp\;<a title=\"Link to 14th International High Perfor
mance Computing (HPC) Summer School web page\" href=\"https://ss25.ihpcss.
org/\">14th International High Performance Computing (HPC) Summer School</
a>. The school is held July 6-11\, 2025 in Lisbon\, Portugal\, and is spon
sored by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) via the HPC SPECTRA pr
oject in Europe\; the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre (Pawsey) in Au
stralia\; the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (DRAC)\; the RIKEN Cente
r for Computational Science (R-CCS) in Japan\; the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign and the University of Texas at Austin in the U.S.\; an
d other organizations from South Africa (NICIS CHPC and NITheCS) and the U
 .K. (EPCC).</p>\n<h2>Summer school topics</h2>\n<p>The summer school helps
students further their knowledge of computational sciences with major sta
te-of-the-art aspects of HPC and big data analytics for a variety of scien
tific disciplines. It also helps students build professional networks and
get advanced mentoring\, while encouraging international exchange for furt
her career options.</p>\n<p>Leading computational scientists and HPC techn
ologists from partner regions will offer instruction in parallel sessions
on a variety of topics. Sample technical topics include the following:</p>
\n<ul>\n<li>HPC and big data challenges in major scientific disciplines</l
 i>\n<li>Shared-memory programming</li>\n<li>Distributed-memory programming
 </li>\n<li>GPU programming</li>\n<li>Performance analysis and optimization
on modern CPUs and GPUs</li>\n<li>Software engineering</li>\n<li>Numerica
 l libraries</li>\n<li>Big data analytics</li>\n<li>Deep learning</li>\n<li
 >Scientific visualization</li>\n<li>Australian\, Canadian\, European\, Jap
 anese\, and U.S. HPC infrastructures</li>\n</ul>
