Madan Timalsina is a postdoctoral fellow in the NERSC NESAP for Data program, currently engaged in collaborative research with the LZ dark matter project at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His primary responsibilities involve collaborating with NERSC staff and domain scientists to enhance the performance of simulation, data analytics, and machine learning codes on high-performance computing (HPC) systems. He specifically focuses on integrating GPUs into simulation workflows, enabling their execution on either HPCs or cloud-based platforms. Madan Timalsina completed his Ph.D. in experimental particle physics at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2022. His doctoral research centered around calibrating the LZ detector to improve the search for dark matter.
