Dani Ushizima is a Staff Scientist at LBNL, Head deputy of the Data Analysis and Visualization Group in the Computation Research Division, and a Consultant for the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center. Ushizima is the Machine Vision co-P.I. for the Center of Applied Mathematics for Energy Related Applications (CAMERA). At the University of California, Berkeley, she is one of the selected University of California Berkeley BIDS Data Scientist fellows.
Her work focuses on data analysis and pattern recognition applied to diverse scientific domains - data range from biomedical micrographies to geological materials and composites, e.g. micro-tomography of materials with applications to carbon sequestration. She has acted as Principal/Co-Investigator of several DOE projects related to data analysis, machine learning, and high performance computing. Interests include business intelligence, multi-modal data analysis, computer vision, machine learning, signal processing, quantitative microscopy, and high-performance computing.
