[Users] Reminder: Edison Going Away Forever Monday at 7 am!

Author: Rebecca Hartman-Baker <rjhartmanbaker_at_lbl.gov>
Date: 2019-05-17 08:45:59

Dear NERSC Users, While Edison's compute nodes have already been decommissioned, the login nodes and scratch filesystems are still available, for users to migrate any data from the scratch filesystems (scratch1, scratch2, scratch3). The login nodes will be powered off at 7:00 am Pacific Time on Monday, May 20. At that point, Edison will be disassembled to make room for NERSC's new Perlmutter system, arriving in late 2020. Any data left on the Edison scratch filesystems will be lost forever. Note that the home and project filesystems, Cori scratch (cscratch), and HPSS system will not be impacted by the decommissioning of Edison.
