Homework 1 Results

In general, the class did well. Groups tried many different approaches as well as explained why they took those approaches and how those approaches changed sequential performance. The Atlas version that was pointed to in the assignment was not optimized very well, so we rebuilt it. We also built the ITX version that Greg Henry gave in his talk. A couple of groups approached (and in some cases, exceeded) these limits. And there were several interesting and possibly novel approaches.

We have not assigned point scores to each group, but instead have critiqued each group's work -- pointing out strengths and improvements -- that we will use later in compiling holistic letter grades.

The class is off to a good start.
