- Description
"Galactic Cannibalism": large galaxies are created through the merger
of smaller ones. Two spiral galaxies, pulled together by their mutual
gravitational attraction collide. The Cray-2 scientific simulation
represents a 500 million year timescale with 25,000 stars per galaxy.
Gas density, nuclear bulges, and supernovae explosions are represented.
