For each subroutine or function, this book includes some or all of the following sections as appropriate: a purpose, C synopsis, C++ synopsis, FORTRAN synopsis, parameters, description, errors, notes, and related information. Review the following sample before proceeding to better understand how the subroutine and function descriptions are structured.
