This chapter discusses aspects of failure and recovery of DMAPI in the multi-node GPFS environment. The failure model is different from a single-node environment, such as being assumed in the XDSM standard.
Designers of Data Management applications for GPFS must comply with the enhanced DMAPI failure model, in order to support recoverability of GPFS.
