Installing GPFS in an SP environment

It is suggested you read "Planning for GPFS" and "Planning for GPFS in an SP environment" before getting started.

Do not attempt to install GPFS if you do not have the hardware and software prerequisites for your environment. See Hardware specifications and Programming specifications.

Ensure that the PATH environment variable on your control workstation and on each node includes:

You may find it helpful to create the DSHPATH environment variable as a duplicate of your PATH. A convenient place to set these is in the /etc/environment file on the control workstation and nodes. For further information on setting the DSHPATH environment variable, see volume 1 of the IBM Parallel System Support Programs for AIX: Command and Technical Reference manual.
