This book is intended for system administrators and programmers of GPFS systems. It assumes that you are, and it is particularly important that you be, experienced with and understand the AIX operating system and are familiar with the GPFS concepts presented in the IBM General Parallel File System for AIX: Concepts, Planning, and Installation Guide. Depending on the environment in which you are operating, it also assumes that you are experienced with and understand the Parallel System Support Programs for AIX (PSSP) program product or the High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing for AIX Enhanced Scalability (HACMP/ES) program product and their respective subsystems used to manage disks.
