Manually Setup NX Connection (3.x)

Setup NX Connection

You only need to do this step once.  For this step you will need the NX Access Key (Only accessaible after login).

The following tutorial is based on MacOS X 10.6, however, it will work for most Windows and Linux OS. This tutorial is intented for NX Client 3.5 only.

• Start the NX connection wizard.  Click "Next"

• Fill in the Session as "nx.nersc.gov" and Host as "nx.nersc.gov" leaving the port number "22".  Then click "Next"

• Leave everything unchanged and click "Next" again.

• Check the box "Show the Advanced Configuration dialog" and click "Finish"

In the Advanced Configuration Dialog do the following:

• In the drop down selection of "Display" choose "Available area" (or any resolution you prefer);
• Click the "Key..." button and copy the key from the NX Access Key Page and paste it into the dialog box.  Then click "Save".

• Click "OK", then save settings if prompted.

Connect to NX Server

To connect to NERSC NX Server start the NX Client and put in your NIM Username and Password.  Then click "Login".
