CDT 1.10 was set to default on 11/27/13

November 27, 2013 (0 Comments)

During today's maintenance, we upgraded the Cray Developer Toolkit (CDT) version to 1.10 on Edison. These are the new default now:

cce/8.2.1
atp/1.7.0
cray-lgdb/2.2.2
cray-libsci/12.1.2
cray-mpich/6.1.1
cray-parallel-netcdf/1.3.1.1
cray-shmem/6.1.1
craype/2.01
craypkg-gen/1.0.0

Note, the compiler wrappers, cc, CC and ftn, in craype/2.00 and later use the pkg-config tool to dynamically resolve and order dependencies based on the package configuration files (.pc). If you compile software for other users, you are encouraged to read the man page of pkg-config, and also craypkg-gen (do module load craypkg-gen to access the craypkg-gen command and its man page), which generates package configuration files and help you to write modulefiles that can be integreated to the compiler wrappers.

The CDT 1.10 release note can be found here,

http://docs.cray.com/books/S-9408-1310//S-9408-1310.pdf

Note, with this upgrade, we temporarily disabled the darshan module, the IO profiler,  in the default user environment because the chagnes in craype 2.01 break the darshan module. We will reenable darshan when a working darshan module is availble.
