NERSC plans to move into a new building called the Computational Research and Theory Facility by the end of 2014. Construction has begun at the main Berkeley Lab site. A webcam shows construction activity.

Researchers in computer science, applied mathematics or any computational science discipline who have received their Ph.D. within the last three years are encouraged to apply for the Luis W. Alvarez Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Science at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
