Charging on Cori Xeon Phi (KNL) nodes begins July 1

May 26, 2017 by Richard Gerber

Effective July 1, 2017 at 12:00:01 am Pacific time, NERSC will begin charging for time used on the Cori KNL nodes. The charge rate is 96 NERSC hours per node-hour, e.g., a job running on two nodes for 3 hours will be charged 96*2*3 = 576 NERSC hours.

We are also enabling all users on all KNL nodes without restrictions, effective May 30th, to give them a chance to prepare their workflows before charging begins. Jobs that run after charging begins will be charged, even if they were submitted before the changeover.

NERSC has also scheduled a training on using KNL nodes for Friday, June 9.  For more information and to register, please see http://www.nersc.gov/users/training/events/cori-knl-training-2/
