New User Policy
Describe new policy and procedure for new PDSF user accounts.
To incorporate requests for new PDSF accounts into the Right Now Web (RNW)-based Call Tracking System, and to facilitate the authorization of user requests, the following steps are required to open a new user account on PDSF for a member of a known HENP group.
User requesting account fills out PDSF New User Account Web Form at:http://hpcf.nersc.gov/resources/PDSF/starting/newuser_form.php
Submitting the Web form will fill out a mail template and send it to a person in charge of the group's activity at NERSC.To change any of the above representatives, please contact PDSF Support Person
A PI connected with the request should determine if the user making the request should be be granted an account under the requested HENP group and fill out a form in NIM. When the PI submits his/her NIM request a RNW ticket gets created. The NIM request will be processed by an appropriate NERSC personell, who will create the account(s), thus resolving the ticket. Person requesting the new account will be notified via e-mail when the account is created. This e-mail will also contain information on how to obtain and change password and how to get information and help at PDSF.
