Parallel Processing on PDSF
Since the PDSF consists of a number networked Unix workstations, it may be usefull to solve large computational problems with application software which allows a set of individual workstations to be linked together to behave like a single parallel computer. The purpose of this page is to provide information about what may be accessible on the PDSF. Please use the PDSF Support Request form to request specific software resources to be made available.
Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM)
- is installed as a Module package on both the PDSF HP and SUN workstations. Consult the man pages ('man pvm' after pvm is loaded by the user) for specific information about PVM on the PDSF.
Message Passing Interface (MPI)
- is not yet installed on PDSF.
