User Roles and Contact Info

This area shows all the users associated with this project, and lists their contact information as well as their role in the project. PIs and Project Managers can update this information or delete a user by clicking on the Update link located at the top left of the display.

User Status by Repo

This area shows how the project's users are associated with the project repositories. This area is used once a year to set user statuses for the next fiscal year.

image Example Display

The columns are:

Name
The user's name. This is a link to the contact page in the person's information area.
The Login Name associated with the user. This is a link to the user's Account Usage Summary.
Repo
The repository.
Resrc
The Resource type (MPP or HPSS for FY03).
Charged
The amount the user has charged to this repo.
User Status
The User's status in this repo for this fiscal year.

MPP Usage, User %'s

This area shows MPP repo information for the project's MPP users.

image Example Display for Project Managers
  • For Project Managers: To change the percentage of a repo's allocation that a Login is allowed to use, click on the 'Edit user percentages' link near the top of the frame. A version of this frame with a editable box will appear. SEE BELOW.
  • To see MPP Usage from the prior fiscal year, click on Show users for proir FY.
  • For information on using the sort arrows and output options, see Sorting and Formatting Your Output.

The columns are:

The Login Name associated with the user in this repo. This is a link to the user's Account Usage Summary.
Name
The user's name. This is a link to the contact page in the person's information area.
Hrs Used (Machine Hours Used)
SP Hours Used.
Charged
MPP hours charged by the user to this repo; Charged is the product of Hours Used and the Priority Charge Factor (1.0 for regular, 2.0 for premium, 0.5 for low.)
Avg CF (Average Charge Factor)
The ratio of Hours Charged to Hours Used. NERSC users are expected to keep this ratio below a value of 1.2
% Used (User Percent Used)
The percentage of a repository's total allocation that has been charged to this Login Name
% Allowed (User Percent Allowed)
The percentage of the repo's allocation this Login Name is allowed to use.
Balance (User Balance)
The hours remaining (balance) that this User Name can charge to this repo for this fiscal year.
Repo User Status
The user's status in this repository - one of:
Active
The user is a member of the repo and has a positive user balance in that repo.
Restricted
The user is a member of the repo but has a negative user balance in that repo.
Limited
The user is no longer a member of the repo but still has limited access to its resources.
Deleted
The user has been removed from this repo.
Admin Member
The user is an administrative member (PI, PI Proxy or Project Manager) of the project who doesn't use this resource.
Default (Default Repo?)
If "Y," this repository will be charged by default when the User Name runs a compute job.

Project Managers can edit their user's percentages by clicking on 'Edit user percentages' in the upper left of the display frame. This will bring up an editable version of the MPP Usage display. Project Managers should edit in the desired percentages and then click on 'Save All Rows' at the bottom to save these changes.

HPSS Usage, User %'s

This area shows HPSS repo information for the project's HPSS users. HPSS usage is computed as Storage Resource Units (SRUs).

image Example Display for Project Managers
  • For Project Managers: To change the percentage of a repo's allocation that a Login is allowed to use, click on the 'Edit user percentages' link near the top of the frame. A version of this frame with a editable box will appear. SEE BELOW.
  • To see HPSS Usage from the prior fiscal year, click on Show users for prior FY.

Proj %
If the user is in only one repo, this is 100%. If the user is in more than one repo, this is the percentage of his/her storage charges that have been assigned to this repo. For example, if a user is in three repos, s/he could assign 20% of storage charges to the first repo, 35% to the second, and 45% to the third. See Apportioning User SRUs to Repositories: Project Percents.
% Used
