    Dear Franklin users,

We have installed some newer versions of compilers and math libraries on
    Franklin:

    1) pgi/7.1.4 has been installed. The current default version is
pgi/7.0.7 . To use the new version:
    % module swap pgi/7.0.7 pgi/7.1.4

    2) gcc/4.2.3 has been installed. The current default version is
gcc/4.2.1. To use the new version:
    % module swap PrgEnv-pgi PrgEnv-gnu
    % module swap gcc/4.2.1 gcc/4.2.3

    3) acml/4.0.1a has been installed. The current default version is
acml/3.6.1. The acml library path is not picked up by compiler wrappers
any more in our current OS level 2.0.39. To use the new version:
    % module load acml/4.0.1a

Note: BLAS and LAPACK functions from Cray libsci library (xt-libsci) are
preferred (and default) over the corresponding ACML functions so ACML
module is advised not to be loaded unless specific functionalities from
ACML are required. Please see more information at:

    Using ACML on Franklin:

    Using LibSci on Franklin:
    https://www.nersc.gov/nusers/systems/franklin/software/libsci.php

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The newer versions of pgi, gcc and acml will set to be default on Wed,
March 19 if no problems are reported.

    Best Regards,

    Helen He
