    Greetings NERSC User,

As previously announced, Seaborg will be decommissioned on Tuesday,
January 8, 2008.  That is five weeks and one day from today.  Users
should be migrating their work to Bassi, Jacquard, and/or Franklin.
NERSC User Services Group is available to assist in these efforts;
send email to consult_at_nersc_dot_gov for help.

Users should also be saving any critical data files to HPSS or other
platforms.  Files that are still in $HOME on January 8 will be archived
into users' HPSS area; files that are still in $SCRATCH on that date
WILL BE DELETED.
