Greetings NERSC User,

This is a reminder that most NERSC systems will be unavailable
for at least part of the upcoming weekend. Please read this
entire message for complete details.

NERSC is planning a major software upgrade of the HPSS system
known as archive.nersc.gov. This upgrade is expected to take
4 days to complete, and is scheduled from Friday, February 10
06:00 to Monday February 13 18:00. During this time, there will
be no access to archive; batch jobs that attempt to read and/or
write from/to archive will fail. Users should arrange to use
other storage resources (/scratch, /project, etc.) during this
time. For suggestions on storage management during the HPSS
outage, please see:

   http://www.nersc.gov/nusers/resources/HPSS/outage.php

If you have previously installed a version of hsi and/or htar
on a local machine, you must replace it with a new version.
Beginning at 10:00 Friday morning, this new version will be
available at:

A number of other NERSC systems are also scheduled for various
hardware and software upgrades that same weekend. The exact
dates and times of the various downtimes is documented at:
