    Dear NERSC MPP users,

Charging for NERSC's new IBM POWER 5 system, Bassi, will start this 
coming Monday, January 9.  Based on benchmark and NERSC user application 
timings, the machine charge factor on Bassi is six.  See:

Additional allocation for Bassi resources have been given to DOE, and 
will be distributed within the next month or so.  If your repo balance 
is low, please have one of your project managers contact their DOE
