Greetings, An update to the MPI libraries on Jacquard has been scheduled for Oct 19. The current default module "mvapich/0.9.5-prod" will be replaced by the "mvapich/0.9.5-mlx1.0.1" module. The new version fixes many bugs and implements some new performance features. The upcoming version is now available to you for testing by doing module swap mvapich mvapich/new at compile time. If you encounter any problems with the new library please contact consult_at_nersc_dot_gov. Most transitionary problems involved in the upgrade can be avoided by using mpirun as opposed to mpirun_rsh. If you've been on jacquard a long while you may have batch scripts from the period when mpirun_rsh was the only way to run. Up-to-date information is provided here. http://www.nersc.gov/nusers/resources/jacquard/running_jobs.php#batch There is also a new ACML 2.7.0 library available for testing. It is likely that it will become the default library on the 19th as well. You will need to recompile against the new ACML to use it. Regards, David Skinner
