Greetings NERSC users,

SC2003 SEEKING INNOVATIVE VISUALIZATIONS FOR OPENING VIDEO

PHOENIX, AZ ? In what has become an SC conference tradition, an
innovative video serves as a prelude to the opening session of the
technical program. Creators of the opening video for SC2003 are now
seeking computer simulations and models. The deadline for submissions is
Friday, September 5.

SC2003, the international conference for high-performance computing and
networking, will be held Nov. 15-21, 2003, at the Phoenix Civic Plaza
Convention Center in Arizona. The conference offers seven days of
technical programs, technological demonstrations and exhibits,
educational outreach and mind-boggling visualizations of computational
data.

The opening video will be shown Tuesday, Nov. 18, as an introduction to
welcoming remarks and keynote speaker Donna Cox of the University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and the National Center for Supercomputing
Applications.

Here's how to submit your work for consideration: Quicktime movies,
mpegs, avi, etc. need to be at least 640x480 resolution. Files can be
uploaded to <ftp.osc.edu> using anonymous login and email address as the
password. Put all files in the 'incoming' folder and email gecsi@osc.edu
with the name of the files uploaded. Visualizations on tape should be in
either Mini-DV or DVCpro format and should be mailed to Kevin Gecsi,
Ohio Supercomputer Center, 1224 Kinnear Rd., Columbus, OH 43212-1163.
Mailed submissions will not be returned.

Conference registration is now open at
<http://www.sc-conference.org/sc2003/registration.html>.
SC2003 is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery's
Special Interest Group on Computer Architecture (ACM/SIGARCH) and the
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer
Society.
