[Users] Important Update: NERSC Systems Outages

Author: David Turner <>

Dear NERSC User, Last week, I wrote to you concerning scheduled maintenance on several NERSC systems this week. A copy of that email can be found here: As a result of yesterday's unplanned /project outage, it has become necessary to extend the scheduled maintenance on /project. That is: /project will be unavailable from Wednesday, July 13, 08:00, until Thursday, July 14, 17:00 In last week's email, I advised Hopper and Franklin users to include: #PBS -l gres=project:1 in batch scripts that require /project. This will prevent such jobs from starting (and failing) while /project is unavailable. The above recommendation now applies to Carver/Magellan as well. Please include the above "gres" directive in all batch scripts that require access to /project. If you have batch jobs that are already in the queue, and that depend on /project, you can add the "gres" attribute with the "qalter" command: % qalter -l gres=project:1 my_jobid -- Best regards, David Turner User Services Group email: NERSC Division phone: (510) 486-4027 Lawrence Berkeley Lab fax: (510) 486-4316 _______________________________________________ Users mailing list
